Things are a bit quieter after a couple of busy days and to this end we start with writer of children’s book and author of (The Wonderful) Wizard of Oz, Lyman Frank Baum who abbreviated that to L. Close on the heels of Brian Eno, rapper Melvin Glover decided it’s probably better to be known by the moniker (Grandmaster) Melle Mel, (with Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five), who gave him mum the message he was about to be born in 1961. Current Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen taxed his mum for the first time in 1964. Minor Royal slipping down the succession tree who’s also an Olympic eventing medalist, Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall (née Phillips) will be celebrating her 35th birthday, unlike dour tennis player and Olympic gold medalist, Andrew Barron ‘Andy’ Murray who hits 29 today.

Death wise, Russian Prince and founder of Moscow, Yuri Dolgorukiy must have started the city’s cemetery in 1157. Writer and encyclopaedist, Ephraim Chambers got to research death first hand in 1740. Two time Prime Minister from the land of sunshine, crocodiles, awful beer (Foster’s) and Paul Hogan, Sir Robert Gordon Menzies had his dispatch box ready for him in 1978.
